The Chevrolet Corvette C8 rear-impact-bar replacement procedure requires three different adhesive types for different materials and locations: aluminium panel-bonding adhesive, sheet-moulded-compound adhesive and a specified structural carbon-fibre adhesive. Why this matters for Repair Certifiers
A generic statement that a component was “bonded in accordance with OEM requirements” may be insufficient where several substrates and adhesive systems are involved. Repair records should identify the products used and show that each was applied in the correct location.
