What sort of vehicles can Repair Certifiers certify?

Repair Certifiers can be appointed to certify one or all of four vehicle categories:

  • Pre-1990 light vehicles (sedans, utes, and vans up to 3500kg).
  • Post-1990 light vehicles (sedans, utes, and vans up to 3500kg).
  • Motorcycles of all ages.
  • Limited Heavy Vehicles – repairs to monocoque structures and cab panels for all heavy vehicles that are not subject to Passenger Service Rule requirements.

For accident damage repairs to a cab over chassis, the Repair Certifier may need to refer the chassis, and/or steering and suspension checks to a Heavy Vehicle Certifier and the repair certification will be for repairs to the cab only.

A Repair Certifier’s appointed repair certification categories are shown on the Repair Certifier Contact List, available on the RepairCert NZ website.
