I-CAR RTS recently listed a Repairers Realm item on plastic repair solutions.
Plastic repair is not new, but the decision to repair or replace plastic parts is becoming more complex where sensors, radar units, brackets, parking aids, blind spot systems, and other ADAS-related components are involved.
Why this matters for Repair Certifiers:
A plastic repair may be acceptable in one location and unsuitable in another. Before accepting a repaired bumper cover or plastic component, consider whether the OEM has restrictions relating to ADAS, sensor function, material thickness, repair location, or refinishing.
